End of Summer and Elliot's Baptism

The end of summer wrapped up busily for us.  When we returned from vacation we quickly tried to settle into a routine (as much as was possible) with Justin being back at work.  My parents had sold their house while we were in Minnesota so the packing was on to get them out of their place and into our basement for the time being.  Then to add to the end of summer business my grandparents sold their farm of nearly 30 years and moved to Washington to a rental near us.  Needless to say there was lots of packing, moving, unpacking, and groaning going on!  (More on the many moves happening later).

In the midst of all this, we had Elliot baptized, which of course meant family visiting from out of town and a big family brunch following the service.  What a wonderful treat to have family in to help get some things unpacked and settled at my grandparent's new place and of course all the help with the baptism.  The service went well and Elliot even made it through the whole service without crying (phew!).

Since we were coming right home for brunch we made things that could cook while we were gone.  And we are loving these breakfast recipes, we have made them several times since!  We had Slow Cooker Blueberry French Toast, Tater Tot Sausage Casserole, and Pumpkin Pie Slow Cooker Oatmeal.  These recipes are delicious and we have enjoyed them several times since!  We also had a fruit tray, and cupcakes of course.

One of my favorite things that we did was had all of our guests hi-light their favorite verse in Elliot's Bible.  I'm sure this will be something he will enjoy in the years to come.

What a wonderful end to our summer and such a blessing to have so much of our family around.
